ELI Network Information
Electric Lightwave’s packet-over-SONET OC48/OC12 Internet backbone provides high speed and diversely routed connections delivering the highest levels of quality and reliability.
Intelligent routing for optimum traffic flow
We designed our network knowing that Internet traffic was going to overwhelm the public Network Access Points (NAPs). Besides our own backbone, we have over 200 private peering routes in diverse physical locations. And we run Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol that quickly calculates the optimal route for your traffic. So you get the smoothest possible traffic flow and highest quality of service.
We’re ahead of you by 50%
Most other providers over-subscribe their networks, but we constantly monitor ours to forecast potential congestion. Our network is fully managed to maintain peak bandwidth utilization of 50% at all times. When traffic approaches that figure, we order more capacity.
Failure is not an option
The Electric Lightwave network offers unsurpassed reliability. We have established Super Points of Presence (POPs) in Seattle, Salt Lake City, Palo Alto, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Portland, Phoenix, Boise, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Newark, Rochester, and Washington, D.C., which are inter-connected with a diversely routed, self-healing SONET rings, with dual Cisco 12000 series or dual Juniper M-series routers to provide fault-tolerant service. Network traffic is automatically reconfigured in the event of a circuit failure.
Value-added services
We provide primary and secondary domain name service and IP addressing, managed router service, and a news server to minimize hassle and capital expenditure for our ISP customers.
